Insects disturb you and your family members, if they are allowed to enter the house. Just not to live in peace, but to keep yourself protected from diseases, you have to keep your home insect-free. To keep your home insect free, insect screen can be used. Insect screen can keep your home, car, or other places insect free. You can purchase the screens from the outdoor stores, or you can make it with your own effort.

Step 1 – Decide the kind of screen
Determine the kind of screen that you want to implement in your home. Determine where you will implement the screens, on the window or on the doorway. This will help you to get the proper size of the required frame. Here you have to consider the usual size of the insects that you want to keep out of your house. If you want protection from all kinds of insects including mosquitoes and flies, then the screen holes should be like the mosquito curtain. If you want to keep the place protected from large insects like cockroach, then the screen holes can be of half centimeter size.
Step 2 – Measure the opening
Take the measurement tape to measure the size of the openings where you want to implement the insect screen. You should consider the inside edges to get the perfect measurement; then add around an inch on each side. The extra height and width will allow overlapping. The size of the screen depends on the way how you want to mount it. There are simple screens, which can be stuck on the window frame without any kind of extra frame.
Step 3 – Make the frame
Now you have to make the frame if you like to implement the insect-screen, which has frame around it. The corner stakes and the frame will keep the wire mesh in proper place. The screen frame should be of proper size that can cover the whole window or the doorway or the opening perfectly. It should be too large according to the size of the opening. So keep the frame in size, subtract the corner stakes from the measurement. Now prepare the pieces of the frame. If you like to use aluminum as the frame material, then cut the aluminum pieces as you measured.
Step 4 – Assemble the pieces
Now assemble the pieces of the frame. If you do it on a flat surface, then you will be able to do it comfortably. Most of the structures of the openings are rectangular, so there is a great chance that yours one will be also a rectangular frame. Attach the corners of the frame and the stakes properly to keep the frame in place. Use a hammer to tighten the stakes.
Step 5 – Set the mesh screen
Now set the mesh screen over the frame. Cut the screen according to the size you measured; then insert the edges of the screen into the grooves. Do the work properly and tighten it. For a clean appearance trim the extra screen and you are done.
